Virtual launch: Dialogue Series & E-trucks Leadership Group

Apr 21 2022, 11:30 UTC - Apr 21 2022, 12:45 UTC

Join us for the first episode of the Dialogue Series, which is a part of the electrification of medium and heavy-duty freight vehicles (MHDV) initiative. This initiative has been conceived with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. Led by Climate Group, the Dialogue series is being organised in partnership with pManifold Business Solutions.

The transport sector is the fastest-growing contributor to climate change, accounting for a quarter (23%) of global emissions. In India, medium and heavy-duty trucks comprise only 2% of the total vehicle population but contribute to 30% of the overall vehicular road transport emissions, which is disproportionately high.

The Dialogue Series aims to build international knowledge partnerships with key global organisations to enhance expertise in electric medium and heavy-duty freight vehicles. This will help support a common understanding of the challenges and opportunities for decarbonisation of freight in India that is aligned with global ambitions on net-zero transport.

E-trucks Leadership Group

The event will also see the launch of the E-trucks Leadership Group in India as a part of the MHDV electrification initiative. It will be the primary industry engagement engine to promote knowledge sharing and policy advocacy with the aim of establishing itself as a progressive business voice for the initiative. It will include OEMs, service providers and businesses looking to electrify their freight fleets. Businesses joining this group will pledge to accelerate the supply and adoption of electrified freight vehicles in India.
