Building momentum on low carbon mobility with the ZEV Community

With the support of Transport Scotland, ClimateWorks Foundation and the Government of Québec, ZEV Community - a project that works with governments to accelerate the transition to zero emission vehicles (ZEVs) - has grown from strength to strength.

The ZEV Community first launched in 2018 and in that time has succeeded in increasing its global reach, impact and ambition. It works with all levels of government to enable best practice sharing and policy alignment, while creating spaces for governments to develop their knowledge and create the partnerships needed to succeed.

Over the past year, the ZEV Community has launched a successful series of Peer Forums to enable knowledge exchange and collaboration, accompanied by a series of webinars that brought together experts from around the world to share expertise and best practice on common challenges.

We’ve also shone spotlights on leading governments, highlighting the depth and breadth of the low carbon mobility targets, policies and actions being developed and implemented.

But the work doesn’t stop here. And we’re excited to continue inspiring action on the zero emission vehicle transition in states, regions, cities and countries across the globe.

“Supporting the ZEV Community is an example of the type of collaborative action we hope to encourage going forward and we're grateful to our partners for their valuable contribution. Going forward, our goals include driving forward our Mission Zero for Transport, continuing to address shared challenges and seeking out innovative policies through the ZEV Community Forums, and engaging meaningfully in COP26 to maximise its benefits in advancing ZEV policy.”

The shared sense of urgency and enthusiasm for decarbonising transport systems has been clear amongst all project participants, and we look forward to building upon this momentum as we approach COP26 and beyond.
