Divya Sharma is the India Executive Director of Climate Group. In this capacity, she leads a team of professionals who work with businesses and governments around critical systems on climate action, ranging from industries, transport, energy and built environment.
Divya is an international climate and urban development expert, specialising in climate resilience and urban development planning with almost 20 years in India and internationally.
Divya has worked in various capacities - a thought leader, knowledge communicator, policy planning consultant, researcher and academician. She also mentors young professionals and colleagues. She has extensively worked with national and state governments, international development agencies, the research community and academia. Divya also advises on several forward-looking impact-oriented initiatives on sustainable development and climate change.
Before joining Climate Group, Divya led the Urban Policy and Planning Portfolio at Oxford Policy Management Limited (OPM) - a development consulting firm based in Oxford, UK. In this role, she set up and developed OPM’s new urban policy and planning portfolio and led international and national assignments within the urban climate space. Before OPM, she worked at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) - India’s premier think tank and research centre, on climate change, environment and sustainable development. At TERI, she led the Centre for Research in Urban Development and Transport Systems and set up a new vertical on climate resilience.
Divya constantly seeks to find meaning in this mundane world. She is studying Vedic literature to understand our spiritual existence.
