2017 - 2018: Developing a State Action Plan on Climate Change in West Bengal, India

In 2017, the Future Fund supported West Bengal to complete a comprehensive review of their State Action Plan on Climate Change (SAPCC).

The review has supported political and administrative authorities to set specific targets towards 2050 emission reduction pathways, and ensured alignment with India’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) and the Paris Agreement.

2018 - 2019: Updating the GHG inventory in Colima, Mexico

The Future Fund has supported Colima to update and strengthen its emissions inventory according to the guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, 2006).

With a better understanding of its emissions sources, Colima can plan more effective mitigation strategies, for now and towards 2050.

2020 - 2021: Developing the MRV REDD+ System in West Kalimantan, Indonesia

In 2020, the West Kalimantan Government was provided with funding to develop its MRV REDD+ System to measure greenhouse gas emission reductions in the region.

This has improved the state's transparency and accountability measures - supporting its pledge to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation by 60% by 2030.

2021 - 2022: Green Autonomous Communities pilot in Yucatán, Mexico

Many homes in Yucatan lack electricity. With support from the Future Fund in 2021, 11 Photovoltaic Autonomous Systems (PVAS) were installed in the municipality of Tecoh, offering an affordable, clean and autonomous energy source.

The project also delivered workshops and training to improve awareness of climate change and sustainability, and to provide maintenance support for the care of the PVAS.
